Extracted MSI is not installed in Vista OS

Hi
I have VM ware .exe it is working fine in Vista OS after Extracting the MSI from exe.I am trying install MSI but its not intsalling plz help me how to resolve this issue

Install the MSI with verbose logging to see where it fails.
So if it work on vista, what other OS doesn't it work on?

If I read the OP correctly, Kim, he's saying that th einstall works if it's run from the EXE but not if run using the extracted MSI. Your advcie about logging is, as ever, spot-on, though.

Seems you're correct again Ian [:'(][:D]

I would enable the Logging policy and then execute the .EXE in this case to find out what command line parameters it passes to msiexec.

You may also need to find out what the .EXE does prior to executing the MSI.

Most of it should apply for version 6 also.
