Please create an install log for this package and look inside to determine the Custom Action that is failing. Error 1720 means there's a script in a CA somewhere that's not executing successfully

did you use Wscript object inside your script?

From the wording of your question and the operating system mentioned, I'm going to guess that you're a home user having an issue installing a piece of software - if you're not then sorry, but that's how you've come across [:)]

This forum is primarily for application packagers - people who write installers for software, to put it in a basic terms.

I suspect that the software you are trying may not be compatible with your operating system and you should contact the software vendor for advice.

If you are a packager - then shame on you! Provide further information on what applicaiton it is, any custom actions and as Pieter has said create a log of the installation and see if that offers anything. Also detail which tool you are using to produce the package.
