Software Deployment Question

error 1322

02/08/2005 7347 views
hi

i need to resolve an uninstall error 1322! the package is the citrix pn agent 8.1. everything's working fine.
but in case of uninstalling the following error message appears:

Error 1322. A portion of the folder path "exceeds the length allowed by the system

i read about the error 1322. it seems to be "something" in the directory table, but i cannot find anything wrong!!!

does anybody know, if the "packagecleaner" tool can remove such errors????

thanks in advance

Try posting a copy of the Directory table and we'll see what we can do...

I can't see anything wrong with the Directory table. (I could of missed something though...)

Anyway, have you added any folders to the installation by way of your new MST file?

Hi again !! Thanks for helping me !!

I have not added a folder. I made a MST file and I have removed the "WEB CLIENT" and "PROGRAM NEIGHBORGOOD AGENT" from the installation package. Then I compiled and it works fine if I install and uninstall the package from Wise...but the MSIEXEC thing does not work. It does not work from "ADD/REMOVE PROGRAM"...I did not make a "SETUP CAPTURE"..I just did a MST file !!

Hi there !!

I solved this with a little help from a friend. I solved it this way:

1. Start the "Windows Installer Editor"...Choose "Other templates"...then TRANSFORM...and point to the ica32pkg.msi.

2. Go to the "Installation Expert" and "Features" and remove the things here that you do not want to install...in my case
I removed the "WEB_CLIENT" and the "PN_AGENT" (Entire Feature will be unavailable on booth)

3. Then it went well when I Compiled !!

I used the Installer Tailor...and created a MST file from ica32pkg.msi..In that MST file I removed(during the installation) these unwanted features...got it ! Then I also got the error !!
