Endnote X2 Packaging Query

Hi All,

Has anyone packaged the latest version of Endnote X2. I have some queries in regards to the initial installation and how to package a networked install volume license product. I would love if someone could perhaps provide me an overview of initial discovery done on this product.

Thanks
Mano

Hi Mario,
Basically you run msiexec /a and enter the license key when prompted. You don't have to to tick the box to create an administrative install.
This will then create the license.dat file that you need to include in your network install point along with the msi.

Jimmy,

Thank you for this information. Now just in case we use the MSI created from a Network Install and we want to use this for packaging. Where does it read the license dat file from when installing it? Remembering that we are just taking the MSI and packaging this, so in this package the location must be pointing somewhere! Will this be user defined as there is no installation directory as yet for Endnote X2.

Double check, but the volume created MSI when executed will reference the licence dat file in the same directory it lives in.
You dont have to define the dat file path.
