Drivers question during Native Imaging

Hi Guys, I've been playing with the native imaging kit for windows 7 deployments.  It's really cool.  We just started getting some HP 8300 All in one systems.  I've gotten to the point where I drop an image on it and have a nice happy device manager.  Audio is a problems though.  It appears that windows does not try to install audio drivers at all, and since it's not showing up in device manager I'm not sure where to go.  If I manually install the driver from HP audio works, but no new device show up in the device manager.

Any thoughts?  I'd like to keep it to a single image if possible...

Thanks in advance!

We've had this happen with video drivers.  You can setup a postinstall task to copy the specific driver, or inject the driver into your sysprepped image with DISM.  The latter has saved us some work and it's really easy.  This is also a neat method:  http://www.itninja.com/blog/view/creating-a-windows-7-sysprep-image-without-having-to-install-any-drivers-at-post-install-tasks

Thanks for the info.  Out of curiosoty did you video drivers show up with warnings in device manager or did they look to be working?

  • No warnings, it showed the "Standard VGA Driver" instead of the correct one. - nheyne 11 years ago

Are your images sysprep'd and are you using the Driver Feed to inject drivers into your image?

Check this article for some more info on using the Driver Feed for your images:
