drivers problem

hi,

i have this application "seagull license server". its a setup. i captured it through installshield. but my problem is its a driver packages has two drivers haspnt,hardlock. After making MSI these two drivers were not installed.

Tried various tricks please let me know where this two drivers location could be found in registry.

You shouldn't really try capturing the driver installation portion of the setup it (usually) ends in tears [;)]

Instead, Aladdin conveniently provide a merge module to incorporate their drivers into MSI packages and I'd recommend you use it if possible.

The merge module can be downloaded here

and there is accompanying documentation within the zip file.

NB: If you decide to incorporate the merge module into the MSI you created (from your capture), don't forget to clean out all the original driver-related stuff that was picked up during the capture - it's no longer needed as the merge module will be doing all the work.

do you think adding merge module is the only solution for this driver proble, By the way here in our firm we don't make use of merge module.

can u suggest any other solutions.

I tried to add the merge module through MSI but prompts an error saying drivers cannot be installed.

any suggestions??

Try using a switch on the orginall install to make it silent.
Identify the original vendor install and try to create a answer file.
Winbatch is a cool tool to use for wrapping installs.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
