.DLL not registering

Hello All,

I am trying to install an app using the wrapper. Problem I am running into is, if I were to use the command line and execute the .msi manually with the switches and all the necessary properties, it works fine. But once I put that into a wrapper and then run that wrapper it doesn't register about 10 .dll files (it installs the app just fine) but I am unable launch it. I tried registering it manually (regsvr32), but that's not helping either.
Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

AK

I would suggest first that you add logging (e.g. /l*v ...) to your manual install and then do the same for the wrapper install. Then compare the 2 log files to see the diff between the 2 installs. That should point you to the reason the wrapper install isn't registering the DLLs for you.

it doesn't register about 10 .dll filesIt sounds like you're registering the files in the MSI using RegSvr32. If you are doing that, stop and do the job properly.

You're a Wise user, so use WiseComCapture to create .REG files for each DLL and, when importing them into the MSI, answer 'Yes' to the question 'Do you want to use the advertising tables'.

What type of wrapper are you creating & what with?

As you have the MSI, why not just create an MST with all the necessary properties and use your normal deployment method?

Thanks everyone.

It's good that your wrapper problem has been resolved. So that we too can learn, will you please share what your problem was and what the solution was?

Thanks.
