Displaying Custom Inventory values in Asset Records...

I created two custom inventory records that will pull the IMEI Device Id, and the SIM ICC Id and display them in the Software section of the device record. I also have an IMEI ID and SIM ID fields in the Asset record that I would like for the values to go in to. This is where I am stuck. I have not seen an obvious way to have the Asset Record fields update with the values pulled by the agent. Thoughts?

  • So I was looking at the ticket rules. Aren't those for the Service Desk tickets? We currently don't use that module, so not sure how I could use those to transfer information from Device to Asset Records. Got any good references to look at? - BHowell 8 months ago

Custom inventory rules populate the Inventory, whereas Asset data is more static. To get the data from the CIR into the asset fields you will need to setup a ticket rule to sync and copy the data across that you want.
