Disk space for VK1000?
I'm getting ready to migrate our physical K1000 to the VK1000. I see the official recommendation for the the latest version of the VK1000 is 1 TB (although some pages indicate 500 GB). My current hardware device shows 31 GB in use and 180 GB free. I only have a device inventory of about 350 computers. It seems like I should be safe with a 150 GB LUN, but maybe the VM balloons up.
Anybody else running a VK1000 on a smaller LUN?

The newer versions of the K1000 require 1 TB of space. If you get one of the older versions of the K1000 and then upgrade to a newer version, it will only require 500 GB initially. - KACE_Irwin 7 years ago

The appliance is configured as thin provisioned, so you will only need the space your really need.
The K1000 OVF starting with 6.4 has a maximum space of 1TB if fully used.
The older ones were the same with 500GB max, this is why a few documents are still pointing to this value. Run both appliances (K1000 1TB and K2000 500GB) and the DC together on a VMFS with 1TB in size, currently using 220GB together.
