Disk not Valid

While trying to run a scripted installation, the installation gets to creating a new partition with diskpart and I get the following error within the cmd window that pops up

DiskPart version 5.2.3790.1830
on computer: K-mac address
The disk you specified is not valid.
There is no disk selected.

I've used this script install on other machines(different system models) prior without issue. This is pushing windows XP pro on a Dell Dimension E521. I've also just recently driver harvested another E521 and recached the drivers on the kbox which didn't resolve the issue. Any idea where to go from here?

I've heard of issues with systems if the SATA controller is not in AHCI mode. We ran into that with our Dell systems.

I have ran into the same thing. Check your BIOS settings on that model machine and make sure SATA is set to AHCI as airwolf recommends.
