Disable Windows Desktop Search update in Office 2007
Hi All.
I'm having a bit of a problem with the Windows Desktop Search update popup in Office 2007. I have distributed my package (made with Microsoft Customization Tool), but when a user opens Outlook for the first time, a popup with Windows Desktop Search update appears.
How do i disable that window? i tried with regmon but can't find the right reg-key.
Please help [:(]

It's a quick option to disable from within the app (see this blog post for details: http://www.downloadsquad.com/2007/01/23/outlook-2007-tip-remove-windows-desktop-search-prompts/) but I too have yet to find the appropriate registry key to add to the deployment package. If I find something I'll let you know
Edit: ok, so the option is in the Office Customization Tool after all. In the "Modify User Settings" section, under Outlook, Tools|Options, Preferences, Search Options.

Before I go on - I know that this is a really old thread - I'm just updating for completeness as we are still only rolling Office 2007 to some departments and I needed to head this issue off.
Quick correction to reg changes above. The disable search download popup reg value is:
Key: HKCU/Software/Policies/Microsoft/Office/12.0/Outlook/Search
DWORD: DisableDownloadSearchPrompt
Value: 1
To set by GPO you need the Outlook 2007 GPO ADM "outlk12.adm". The policy is then found here:
User Configuration/Microsoft Office Outlook 2007/Tools|Options.../Preferences/Search Options.
"Prevent installation prompts when Windows Desktop Search component is not present" - set to Enabled
It can also be set, as stated by clauretano above, in the OCT.
