Hi ABN,
I'd suggest you should be using the Office Custom Installation Wizard in order to create a transform and apply this setting - along with any others that are required.

I followed the same, but this tool have no option to disable menu items..
Tried with Visio Resource Kit Tools also, this one also not routed me to solution.
This one also not worked:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\Common\OfficeUpdate]
"BlockUpdates"="dword:00000001"
Any idea ...

Can the menu be removed within the app? If so, I'd suggest recording that process as a macro then converting the resulting VBA into VBScript. You can then use that VBScript in a Custom Action.

It has not removed , if it is removed means alomost done with solution.
did workaround with registry and i do, i hope some registry key or vbscript will follow the solution...
mean time , if any one can help with some hint..that credit will go to them... :-)

The check for updates option in office 2003 cannot be disabled using the Office Resource Kit

Hence the registry key is addded to the application.[:D]
