KACE Product Support Question

Device doesnt get patches

04/03/2017 484 views

I have several devices out of 400+ that will not detect or install 3rd party patches. The device will do an inventory every 2 hours like it is scheduled too. The Patches are replicated to a server that is at it the devices locations. I have checked the replication on the server and there are patches there now are they the patches I need that I cant not tell. I also checked on the KAgent log on the device. The log show now activity for a detect or deploy of the 3rd party patches. Is there anything else I can do or check?

  • Sanity check: Are those computers in a patch schedule? How often does that (or those) patch schedule(s) run? Do you see errors on the patch schedule details page for any of those computers?

Check the share/rights on your KACE Repository folder.  I have had repositories that had rights incorrectly setup which stopped about everything from KACE for deploying.  Also for a test if it is your repository, you can modify your Replication system and check enable Failover to Appliance.  But please not that this can consume more bandwidth than your remote location can handle.  We do not enable Failover to Appliance unless the remote site is running at least a 20 meg speedtest.

  • There were some rights issues with the Kace Rep folder. I did fix those and some of the device starting getting patches. Had to go into the kace log for the others. Turns out some of the .ocx files were missing from those devices. Coping the missing .ocx files from a working device fixed those issue. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Dave.
