Detect power user

I want to run certain custom action if the logged in user is a power user. But how to detect if the logged in user is a power user or part of administrators group?

Thanks in advance

hi desertrose..

only power users and administrators can do some changes in the machines like executing vb scripts so no need to worry with users on limited access. Limited users cannot install applications or execute vb scripts.

I am using a custom action to set some security policy using caspol.exe. so if the logged in user is a power user, the custom action fails. therefore i need to detect the logged in user.

Thanks

There are innumerable scripts around which you can use to get a user's group memberships. It'll be relatively straight-forward in this case because you won't need to get domain memberships.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
