detect if laptop wireless card turned on or off

Is there a script that can tell me whether the wireless card is turned on or off? We have an exe we're installing to our laptops, but the install fails if the wireless card is turned off, so I'd like a way to detect it and warn the staff to turn on the card first. I've been trawling the internets for a solution and looking through some likely candidate classes w/ WMI Code Creator but so far haven't come across anything useful. Thanks!

Ron,

How about running your favourite light-weight snapshot tool against turning the switch on?
It may just yield something that you can query, I'm thinking a registry key somewhere.

If you've been trolling the internets for a solution, maybe that's why you haven't found an answer - try trawling instead [:D]

Hope that helps,
