Desktop icon for Pcanywhere 12.1 package

Hi all,

package Pcanywhere 12.1 host only, I just package it with the PCA packager tool. Very easy. the only problem that I have ; my client do not want a shortcut on desktop. Here what i tried to remove it.

1- I checked the property name in the dialogs box and changed the value in the property table to 0 instead of 1. I Used ORCA to created an MST. Not working :(
2- I created an mst with installTaylor (with the wizard) and it works in my vware session but not on client image. not a good thing to create an mst with a vendor msi.
3- I check if there is something intersting in the shortcut table, nothing. :(

anysuggestion ?

thks to all

If you remove the property for the shortcut (something similar to ADDPCADESKTOPICON) from the Property table, it will stop the shortcut from appearing on the desktop.

If you set the property ADDPCADESKTOPICON=0 via the command line or in a transform it will still install the shortcut. If you remove the property from the property table it will prevent the shortcut from appearing on the desktop.

Open the MSI/transform with ORCA, navigate to the property table, right click the ADDPCADESKTOPICON property and select 'Drop Row', save you transform and this should work (I just downloaded the trial and it worked fine).
