Delete one file from cab

Hi,

I got an repackackaged applicaton which needs a small change. One of the files which were included are not going to be included anymore.
Does anyone know if there is an easy way of deleting just one file from the cab file (which contains several files), or does this change require extensive changes? I'm using wise packager

Thanks in advance!

As you're using Wise then just remove the file from the Installation Expert view, don't forget to turn oft the "quick compile" option before compiling or remove the existing msi. If you don't have the .WSI project file then just convert the existing MSI before working with it.

The other option would just to leave the file in the CAB but remove it from the File table so it doesn't gets installed.

Don't forget to do a backup before doing any changes ;)

Thank you both, sorry for the delay, I've been away for some days. Actually I got an msi file and used Windows Installer Editor inside Wise Package Studio to create an mst file. Would it be possible to convert the mst file to a wise project file as explained here?

If you need to do that you could open the MSI and apply the MST in Orca, then click File, Save Transformed As to create an MSI file including the changes you made in the transform [;)]

Rather than deleting the file, why not condition its parent component so that it doesn't get installed? Much neater and you have a fall-back (by removing the condition).
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
