Custom action flow in Windows installer
hi,
Is it is possible to run the first action is my Custom action in application packagging..
for that i set the Custom action sequence number to minimum number but i showing an error like after that costfinalize only it
is possible any body tell me what is the flow of actions that are followed by the Windows installer internally...please suggest
me..

Please correct me if I have wrongly understood your requirement. Do you want one of your custom action to run prior running other custom actions?
It depends on what your custom action does. Try placing it after costinitialise.
If my understanding is wrong, you probably need to explain your requirement better.

i sort the sequence order and i place my custom action before the costinitialize action but the error is that place the custom action
after costfinalize for that my question is how the way thw windowsinstaller processing the actions for that i requierd the link i folled the
timmsie provided link in that i got some thing knowledge thanks to timmsie..

during the execution the log shows that put the CA after the Costfinalize action and i put that i got that also my question is that why i need to put after the costfinalize ...i want run my CA as the first action when the WI acuisition process starts..

Give it up, Kim. You'll find banging your head against a brick wall more rewarding.
This chump needs to go on a course or at the very least do some proper research about WI but has shown no evidence of having done any yet.
