Creating an .mst using a Setup.exe

Please bear with me as I am an extreme Noob. I have been using Admin Studio for 2 weeks now (with no training).

I have an application that uses a setup.exe to call an .msi file. I am trying to create an .mst file for this application so I can install only certain components. The InstallShield Tuner will only allow me to select an .msi to create a Transform on. Is it possible to create a transform using a setup.exe? If I try to call the .msi directly the system generates an error telling me I must run the setup.exe to install. Please help!!!

Transforms can be used for customizing MSIs and not setups.
Search the forum for InstallShield as there have been alot of posts regarding this. You can also add "ISSETUPDRIVEN" and "OnCheckSilentInstall" to the search list.

Create your transform and try passing the argument to your setup.exe
/v"TRANSFORMS=mylittletransform.mst"
For InstallShield command line options - search http://helpnet.installshield.com
