Configuring Windows Desktop Search

Howdy :)

I'm struggeling with the configuration of Windows Desktop Search... probably done via registry adjustements but can't figure it out. I've checked everything with Process Monitor to see what changes but it doesn't help me.

Anybody out there who knows (out of experience)?

I'd recommend configuring it using Group Policies if possible.
You get the .adm templates from the Microsoft Website.

Hope this helps

Hi Renio,

I have configured this Windows desktop search using registry keys . What kind of configurations do you want ? If you want to disable the First Run Wizard, you can configure it by editing the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Desktop Search\FRW] string. All the setting can be changed by using they key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Desktop Search].
