Configuring Printer in .msi

Hi,

I have created an MSI file for the application Sungar Relius Forms.
When I install the setup manually, it adds a printer
But, the MSI file that I have created is not doing so

How to capture the printer configuration settings in the MSI file

Hi,

I solved the issue
What I did was,
I installed the .exe file
Then, I added the registry keys "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environment" and "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers" in the msi file which were not there previously

The printer gets displayed in Printers and Faxes only after I reboot the machine after installing the MSI

If you stop/start the Spooler service as part of the installation using the ServiceControl table a reboot will not be required. You should also do this while uninstalling the package, otherwise the printer will still be visible but not available.

Hi Angel,

Thanks a lot
I tried stopping and starting the service through service control
Now, it doesn't require a reboot
Printer appears automatically after installing the MSI
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
