Configuring default option for SQL Management studio

Hi,

I am trying to customise the default tool options in SQL management studio 2012 for all users. 

I thought a simple registry change would do the trick. What I am finding is if I manually change the registry it reloads all the defaults. If I change anything with in SQL management studio it saves to the registry but if I export and import the registry settings they reset back to default again.

Anyone tried doing this or have any idea why its resetting the registry if its manually changed.

  • I think there is an INI file that has to match the reg settings. sort of like a time stamp, if its off, it goes to default - Badger 9 years ago
