Computer with agent not showing up in Inventory

I have a computer that I have provisioned with KACE agent and KACE agent shows in computer's program list. When I go to Devices Inventory the unit doesn't show up, where might I look to resolve this as I can't send deployments.

When our organization has issues with machines checking in we run the command: "amptools uninstall all-KUID"(includes deleting the KUID in registry) which uninstalls the agent completely before reinstalling the agent. You can simply run "amptools uninstall all" and that will leave the machine with the same KUID when you reinstall the agent.

Is this machine on the same subnet as your others? I have to deploy the agent using the IP address for servers I have in a DMZ.

    • Is the Dell Kace Agent running on the local machine? - rockhead44 9 years ago
      • I hate to admit this but how do you tell if it is running? I don't see launcher or anything in Task Manager that says KACE agent. - pmcasey 9 years ago
      • It runs as a service. I meant to type that in my reply to you. - rockhead44 9 years ago
      • Yes the AMP agent is running. - pmcasey 9 years ago
      • I have had this problem and forced an inventory using (from a command prompt) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\KACE\runkbot.exe" -s 4 0
Then the device appears. - rockhead44 9 years ago
      • I ran the command and it has shown up in the inventory. - pmcasey 9 years ago
      • Great! Definitely save that command. - rockhead44 9 years ago
  • Dear Rockhead44:

So I ran the force inventory on the client machine and it looked like it was successful but it is still not showing up on the admin side. I enabled debugging on the machine and tried to do a force inventory. Here is the result:

    kbot[6:1407881007] @ 2015-03-19T14:05:01 (status) START
    kbot[6:1407881007] @ 2015-03-19T14:05:01 (output) Running as: SYSTEM
    kbot[6:1407881007] @ 2015-03-19T14:05:01 (activity) Launching program: 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\KACE\KDeploy' '-fs -mi -fade=1 -notifyevent=' wait='true'
    kbot[6:1407881007] @ 2015-03-19T14:05:04 (output) Launched Process: KDeploy
    kbot[6:1407881007] @ 2015-03-19T14:05:04 (status) Completed FS/MI processing...
    kbot[6:1407881007] @ 2015-03-19T14:05:04 (status) FINISH (in state 'verification_success')

I am not sure what to do to try and troubleshoot next. I have verified that the correct port is opened and connected. Also, I have verified that the program is under programs and features. Please let me know if you have any questions. - anonymous_129668 8 years ago
