Can any body tell what is the difference between a .iss file and .rsp file ... and how to create them through commands(Oracle APP)

I am working with Oracle application and I need to create a response file to it for its silent installation.

I have used the following command to create response file forsilent installation but its not working

OracleXEUniv.exe -record -destinationFile C:\Response\test

but this is not working giving the options to installing ans silent installation only...  and with

OracleXEUniv.exe /r

command .iss file is created in windows folder.

Am confused with these files... can anybody help out please...

You have to specify the filename and extension for your .rsp file on the command line - 'test.rsp', not just 'test'.

An .iss file is an Installshield response file, as far as I know Oracle installers don't use these, so the .rsp approach would be the best method to explore.

Hope that helps,
