Can an application installed on the desktop handles, application running inside virtual client?

We work in a project in which our application installed on a desktop talks to many other customer applications via screen automation i.e. getting handles of the application controls.

Customer has recently introduced MS virtual client for some applications due to which these applications run in a separate process or thread which is not owned by the desktop. Hence our application is not able to get the handle of the applications running inside virtual client.

  • Heya, how do you talk to the app? Do you use COM calls? If so, the APP-V apps will need this exposed so your app can chat it/the bubble. - rileyz 10 years ago
