asset: focus on search when page loads

Looking to scan in hundreds of QR codes to update each row in assets. It would be great (like many HTML pages) to be able to set focus on search field so I can scan in PPID number. Any thoughts or am i over thinking this? Now I have to click every time on search then scan in the ppid for parts look up. Thank you.

I am going to guess that what you are actually wanting to do is to apply a unique QR code to each asset record, so that you can then scan the asset with maybe the Go app and update the Asset data?

The best way to do that would be to create a CSV update with the data and carry out an asset upload to add the QR code data to your asset data. Experience suggests if you are going to try this, create a new Barcode value and always use a UTF8 CSV format to avoid errors. If you need more help with this please just reach out

  • thank you for your suggestion. Only because I had to visually inspect each power supply (we collect PS from students each June) and check each one against warranty lists from Dell did I find it increasingly irritating to have to click on search box every time (after the page refreshed) before I was able to scan in the next power supply. I was hoping someone found a KACE secret page setting that allowed this. - tburkeinVT 4 years ago
