As part of Application Discovery, How to identify the Excel and Access Databases that are in use from the end user machines?

As part of Application Discovery, we want to identify the Excel and Access Databases (Not the installed one) that are in use from the end user machines..

Is there any tool available from Microsoft to do this activity?

Is SCCM capable of doing this?

you could perhaps use NirSoft's OpenFilesView tool (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/opened_files_view.html ) with appropriate filters (I'm thinking /processfilter) and output the results to a file for analysis.

Not sure about native SCCM capabilities..
