With the release of GA (general availability) today, Monday, April 15th,
- The GA release version will be 9.1.317. You may already see this advertised to your appliance (but it could also take a few days after 4/15) – feel free to install when it appears. You can also download the kbin from the Support portal for manual upgrade. NOTE: Final release notes will be available on the Support Portal.

I updated my SMA yesterday. But since the update i get an error message that the KACE SMA-Offboard backup is not configured. The problem is that i do not want to use that. What can i do to turn the offboard backup off without getting the message?

no, there was a decision to "enforce" the offboard backup a bit more, since nearly all escalations shown that customers have a backup on the appliance but not offboarded, which is a real issue if the appliance is broken and huge efforts are made to recover the backups out of the appliance.
You simply can ignore this message but you _REALLY_ should enable offboard backup and export the backups regulary. (no. snapshots are no backups, ie if the appliance is compromised) - Nico_K 5 years ago-

We just upgraded last night to 9.1.317 and started seeing the backup notice.
So i totally agree that you should be doing backups.
BUT...
As this offboard storage was not an option when we started using KACE. We have both VM snapshots and DB backups.
My questions are as follows.
- What does this do extra for us that our already in place backups are not doing?
- Can we just show these type of notices to just Admin accounts and not the whole of the Admin console? - DLCurtis 4 years ago

Already installed (testing environment) about a week ago, works perfect, will apply the update in production this week.
Manager is afraid of updating agents, and that our XP machines will no longer check in if we upgrade.
