Appv 5 Sequence Java 1.8.X - Issues with the exceptions list

In our environment we have sequenced java 1.8.x and need the appv package to read the local exceptions list from the local machine instead of the exceptions list located under the appvpackage (ProgramData\App-V\BF2FFC3F-00D1-4EAB-A226-462120985BD9\E06C4AE9-D901-4A6C-B4B5-3B62F1E87681\Root\Windows\sun\java\deployment\)

Is this possible? Having the appv java package read from the local system (C:\Windows\sun\java\deployment)

Any help appreciated

You should be able to achieve what you desire.

You can either

  • Remove the Windows folder from the App-V package, so its looking at the native system, this of course assumes that you have those exception files in that location (C:\Windows\sun\java\deployment).

  • Of if you need some of those files Windows directory in the App-V package, then you can remove the exceptions file from the App-V package (C:\Windows\sun\java\deployment) and mark the folder to Merge in App-V.
