Application repackaging for Apple iMac PCs and Laptops...

Hello everyone,

My apologies if I'm not posting my question in the appropriate forum. We are taking on more Apple iMacs and I want to know what repackaging (if neccesary) tools are available... Moreover, is repackaging even a consideration? Can anyone point me in the right direction to gain more knowledge on the subject? I would really like to know if there are any differences between repackaging applications for Windows OS vs. MAC OS... Is it somewhat easier? What is the software deployment process for iMacs?

Also, we have Altiris as our deployment tool to send out packages (which is also compatible with Apple PCs). Has anyone attempted to deliver packages through Altiris? Are there any better options out there that I should look into?

Many thanks

Al

Hi Al,
you're right, this is not the correct forum for questions like this.
However, one of the key applications for OSX packaging is Apple's PackageMaker, an application from OSX SDK.
You need to download the SDK from here: http://developer.apple.com/mac/
Here are two pretty good websites to start with:
http://www.afp548.com/
http://macenterprise.org
