AppDeploy Repackager

Hi There,

I am using the AppDeploy manager to package up an EXE as an MSI and include some extra files needed for the operation of the software. It works successfully up until I provide a name for the file I click "Next" and the application crashed without an error. When I try relaunch the program it asks if I want to continue the repackaging i click "yes" but nothing happens and it crashes again.

In C:\ I have an errorlog for the repackager but all it contains is "Recipe File Version = '1.1' AppDeploy Repackager Version = '1.2'"

I am running this program as Administrator with UAC disabled.

Any ideas?

It could be any one of a thousand things, couldn't it!

The first thing I'd do is uninstall, do a thorough clean-up and then re-install. If it still crashes, I'd run ProcMon alongside as you start the app, so that you can see exactly what it's trying to do. I'd wager that you have either a missing or incorrectly permissioned file or registry entry. - anonymous_9363 10 years ago
    • Yes, it could be but due to the application having no decent log file generation it is hard to determine where the problem is, isn't it?

I will be trying again shortly on another machine. - cdalley 10 years ago

(trimmed as it was too long)

I have full administrator access to the machine and am running the appdeploy application as administrator. What could cause this issue?
