Any suggestions?

Can someone help?......We have symantec ghost 7.5 and are considering upgrading to 8.0...We support around 2000 pcs with XP and Win 2000. My question is instead of creating an image for every pc can i package the application and distribute to them? Is there anything out there or better then AI Snapshot?

I can suggest you take a look at www.matrix42.com

The Empirum Pro product can do all of this and also do the app deployments.

Well, if I understand your problem, why do U want to image applications? Why not make unattended/silent installations of them? I think it is much better way. I use snapshot installations only for few problematical applications (Intergraph GIS for example)

Silent installs are good for "Vanilla" configurations across your company. AI packages are great if there are some customizations to be made after install. We have several applications here that need to be configured and all of this config can be packaged into the install. I only ever have problems with Microsoft products and AI packages, so if you already paid for Ghost, you shouldn't have to buy anything else.

As I've said elsewhere on this board, I like 8 a lot more than 7.5. I feel that 8 cleans up a lot of small bugs and problems in 7.5 and things finally work how they should in most cases. And the reporting is great.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
