Adobe Flash 9.0.115 upgrade from 9.0.47

I'm using the Adobe Flash redistributable to install Flash 9.0.115 via SMS 2003 on systems that already have 9.0.47. However, what I'm finding is that Add/Remove Programs shows both 9.0.47 and 9.0.115 installed and both flash9d.ocx and flash9e.ocx are in the SYSTEMROOT%\System32\Macromed\Flash\ folder.

I previously upgraded from from various Flash 9.0.xx versions before without uninstalling the previous one, so there's something different with this version.

Has anyone else had simliar experiences?

Are you extracting the MSIs from the redist file? How are you going about upgrading from the previous version? Are you leaving it up to the vendor supplied redist to handle it for you?

If so, I'd say start by examining the Upgrade table and maybe using UpgradeSync from Wise Package Studio to sort it out for you or manually editing the Upgrade table in a transform.

I had the same problem and modifying the MSI package for IE to uninstall the previous package worked.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
