Adobe Acrobat Pro - self repair?
Hi,
I am also having some difficulty in getting Adobe to self repair. I deleted the main exe and tried running the app as a locked down user to see if it repaired but it gave me an error saying that i didn't have the correct privilges to run setup.
I then ran a log file on repair and saw that there was a Custom Action called "UnsupportedPriviliges" in the msi that was giving me this error. I have changed this Custom Action's Condition to Not Installed AND REMOVE~="ALL".
With this done the self-repair now kicks in and starts but it hangs after a short while with the progress bar just stuck at about 3/4 of the way done.
Any ideas how to make Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Pro self-repair?
Thanks.
Mark

I have now tried installing it with ALLUSERS=1 and also tried it with ALLUSERS=2 and the result is the same with them both.
It seems to stop or hang at the custom Action named - RemoveAcro5TempIccReg.
Maybe this just can't be done. I don't really want to go messing with the Vendor's Custom Actions in case they are critical to something else.
Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone, i am having the exact same problem with Adobe Acrobat Std 6.0 repairing for a user..... just says
You do not have sufficient privileges to run this installer.
Setup will now terminate.
When i repair as an administrator it works fine.... here is a copy of the log where i think windows installer is having difficulities
Action start 11:28:41: SetupPluginsProperties.
MSI (s) (90:80) [11:28:41:674]: Skipping action: UnSupportedInstallType (condition is false)
MSI (s) (90:80) [11:28:41:674]: Doing action: UnsupportedPrivileges
Action ended 11:28:41: SetupPluginsProperties. Return value 1.
Action start 11:28:41: UnsupportedPrivileges.
MSI (s) (90:80) [11:28:42:436]: Product: Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional -- You do not have sufficient privileges to run this installer. Setup will now terminate.
Somone please help me :S
