AC3Codec 1.62b doesnt work in user profile
I tried to play few .mpg files on my VM , but I got an error saying that I dont have the required codec installed on the system. I installed the codec with an admin account and then I could play the files but if I login as a normal user and try to play the files I get an error saying that "WMP cannot play this file, there is a problem with the sound device.There might not be a sound device installed on your computer or it may be in use by another user". I gave permissions to all the installed files and registry entries but its not working.
I have not captured the .exe I am silently installing the setup.
Is there any workaround for this?? Please help..

You have to open the GUI of AC3Codec (AC3Filter Config) and then go to System tab. Select AC3Filter for everything (PCM, AC3,DTS MPEG Audio, PES DVD) aand select the most important thing "Prefer Ac3Filter". Then click OK.
After this procedure Ac3 Filter should work fine...

I have already verified all this.. infact by default all these check boxes are checked...
It doesnt work when in user profile... Any idea why????

Try uninstalling, then reinstalling your sound card, check the sound and device manager too

well well well.. I had tried doing all those stuff but only thing I missed was restarting the VM once...[&o]...
I had to restart the VM once to fix this issue..I just dont believe how did I missed this...[:@]
