4 years with ON (i)Command / LiveState

Hello,

4 years doing (alongside everyday's IT consultant's job) packaging and Desktop Management,
with SMS, Altiris, and other, and all I can say is that by the time required to to some
snapshot/Msi package with any solution, we do 4 packages with delivery...

Of course you've to learn the tools (Transcript recorder, and MSI packager), but when
done, it's a crazy run doing many package a day.

Everything is possible, and what I love (compared to altiris and other mammouth) is
that I actually fight against the application I have to deploy, not the tools/solution
I use for doing that..

What is missing is an active LiveState Forum..

See you around

Mr EBE

I'll agree with you on that, packaging is great with SLD. I came from an AD / GPO only shop, so being able to use more then MSI exclusively is beautiful. Some apps just don't like to be packaged into an MSI. The Admin Parameters are icing on the cake! It's incredibly powerful and flexible. I no longer have to visit every AutoCAD users desk for an upgrade.

Here are the forums for SLD that I know exist, please feel free to share.

icommand.org forums, mostly European users coming from CCM and iCommand

Symantec's own forums

...and this one.

Thanks,

Tom
