RepliWeb Releases ROSS v2.2 to Streamline Digital Asset and Application Release Cycles Throughout SharePoint

ROSS replicates artifacts, solutions, and associated content throughout multi-stage and multi-farm SharePoint environments.

LAS VEGAS, NV, October 19th, 2009 - RepliWeb, a leader in application infrastructure software for web content and application deployment, today announced the release and immediate availability of RepliWeb Operational Synchronization for SharePoint (ROSS) version 2.2 at the 2009 Microsoft SharePoint Conference. ROSS enables organizations to effectively manage the content and application lifecycle within SharePoint® by replicating functional elements and content in multi-stage (Development, Staging, Production) and multi-site (distributed) environments.

Organizations which leverage SharePoint as a development platform commonly manage web deployments across separate, dedicated environments for Development, Testing and Production; this tiered architecture allows for proper quality testing and judicious change control. Unfortunately, moving the necessary solutions, artifacts, and associated content across each tier often presents a series of operational challenges. A combination of manual processes, complex interdependencies, and unregulated updates can often result in compromised production environments if not properly managed.

Designed to enhance native tools (STSADM, Content Deployment wizard) and replace manual processes (backup/store, import/export), ROSS's commercial-strength feature set overcomes common deployment challenges through intelligent automation. ROSS accelerates release cycles, ensures content and application continuity, invokes disciplined change control processes, and reduces deployment times, regardless of the size or complexity of the SharePoint environment.

""For those managing replication within SharePoint, the most common requests have been the need for granular control over what / how assets are replicated, reliability in the replication process, governance over who can submit deployments, and the explicit desire to reduce manual processes," commented Yossi Moriel, CEO of RepliWeb, Inc. "ROSS is built to meet these objectives, enabling organizations to more efficiently manage the process of promoting updates across SharePoint environments.”

ROSS Version 2.2 Highlights include:

* Job Delegation: Accelerate release cycles and govern change by assigning pre-configured jobs to non-privileged users (developers) to submit on-demand through a user-friendly Web-UI.

* Solution Deployment: manage the deployment of .WSPs across farms.

* Artifact Deployment: replicate Structure, Features, Look & Feel, Navigation, Data, Galleries, & Security, Workflows, etc.

* Include/Exclude Controls: filter down to a file or item level to selectively deploy changes on a per job basis.

* Rollback: reverse unintended deployments by restoring to the last good known state.

* Reporting & Notifications: useful for peace-of-mind, trouble-shooting, and auditing.

Enhanced to accommodate the evolution of customer environments, ROSS version 2.2 provides an expanded variety of replication scope definitions. With ROSS v2.2, organizations may now replicate Workflow Definitions, including those built using Designer, Visual Studio, and Nintex Workflow 2007. In addition, ROSS v2.2 allows for the replication of MySites and Site Variations. Deployment aside, ROSS v2.2 enables list to list replication within the same site, splits large lists or migrates content from previously defined conditions, and provides the ability to promote a site to a site collection with data and settings maintained.
