New Boundary Technologies Opens Beta Testing of Prism Deploy 6.0

Software Deployment Solution Improves Performance, Security and IT Efficiency

Minneapolis, MN June 15, 2004 – New Boundary Technologies™ today opened beta testing of Prism Deploy® 6.0, the company’s award-winning software deployment solution. Prism Deploy 6.0 includes new and exclusive features that improve deployment performance, enhance network security and administration, and increase IT department efficiency. Prism Deploy 6.0 is scheduled for general availability in July 2004.

New security features in Prism Deploy 6.0 include security roles, digital certificate support and permissions deployment. Deployment performance and efficiency are greatly increased with new features such as wake on LAN, checkpoint restart, content templates and improvements to the management console. Prism Deploy 6.0 is built on a SQL Server database, so it can be easily integrated with an organizationÂ’s existing technology investments.

“Viruses, worms, malware, spyware, browser hijacks – there are so many threats to corporate networks these days that software maintenance and management has become a strategic imperative,” said Kim Pearson, president and chief executive officer of New Boundary Technologies. “Prism Deploy 6.0 gives organizations the solution they need to take control of their networked systems and keep them secure, stable and compliant. It makes packaging and deployment an easy drag and drop process, and puts control of laptop, workstation and server software and configuration back in the hands of administrators where it belongs.”

Prism Deploy 6.0 performs complete conflict checking and asset profiling before deployment to make software rollouts nearly 100-percent reliable. The solution automates and streamlines processes so software distribution can be done in minutes instead of days or weeks, greatly improving IT department efficiency.

“Tools for software distribution, although not glamorous, are one of the most significant contributors to cost reductions in desktop and laptop management,” said Ronni Colville, research director at Gartner. “Software distribution and complementary auto discovery capabilities are central to configuration management. Automating the delivery and updating of applications and content can provide an immediate easing of the cost of having to send technicians to touch every desktop PC or other hardware device.”

In addition to its robust deployment functionality, Prism Deploy 6.0 includes features that make ongoing maintenance and management of software fast and easy, including removal and repair of software and configuration data. This adds significant value to the solution, empowering network administrators with much greater control over network system compliance and improving overall network security and integrity.
