The /v (not /V) option to VMware-player-3.1.2-301548.exe to pass msiexec options does not work.  You must extract the msi with /e, Then install with


start /wait msiexec /i "vmware player.msi" /qb REBOOT=ReallySuppress

del "c:\users\public\desktop\vmware player.lnk"


The msi options DESKTOP_SHORTCUT=0 and QUICKLAUNCH_SHORTCUT=0 do not work.
