basic-miktex-2.7.3248.exe --auto-install=yes --paper-size=Letter --unattended
I found that i encountered numerous error messages during the installation of the MikTex 32 bit setup, mentioning that tpm packages were missing from the target application directory. After different attempts to download replacement tpm packages from the net in case they were corrupted this didn't resolve the issue.
I found that applying application compatibility settings to run under 'Windows XP Service Pack 3 mode' and the 'Run as Administrator' selection made that the installation proceeded without any further issues when i re-started on my Windows 7 Enterprise VM Workstation.
To ensure a complete application package containing all miktex modules the resultant file system footprint is in excess of 2gb. The sequencing activity took a little of 24 hours on a 2GB RAM Hyper V workstation running either Windows 7 32 or 64 bit. A different set of application files and modules appear to be needed for each architecture so 2 application sequences should be considered to manage each platform specific package.
