Before you can modify the installation process you need to get the installation files. You can do this by using winzip to extract all files from the exe file or empty your %USERPROFILE\Temp% and double-click on the installation file. Go to your %USERPROFILE\Temp% and copy the newly created directory.
In addition to the normal installation procedure, you can also create a script for unattended installation. To do this, you need to modify the setup.ini file. This file has a [AutoSetup] group with several values to control the
installation process. You can define the following values:
* Silent: Indicates if the setup process runs invisible and automatically, can be true or false (default).
When silent is false, the values below act as defaults in the setup application.
* LicenseAgreement: Indicates if the license agreement will be shown, can be true (default) or false
* Language: The language that will be used (enter the filename, like french.lang)
* Path: The installation directory (default "Program Files"\PLSQL Developer)
* OverwriteFiles: Indicates if there should be a message when overwriting files. True overwrites, false keeps existing files, and empty shows a dialog.
* CreateGroup: Indicates if a PL/SQL Developer group with shortcuts should be created, can be true (default) or false.
* CreateGroupIn: The group where the PL/SQL Developer shortcuts will be created.
* CreateShortcut: Indicates if a shortcut on the desktop should be created, can be true (default) or false.
* TemplateFiles: Indicates if the template files should be installed, can be true (default) or false
* KeywordFiles: Indicates if the keyword files should be installed, can be true (default) or false
* ExternalExecute: Allows you to run an external application after setup has finished successfully.
* AutoStart: Indicates if PL/SQL Developer should be started after installation, can be true or false (default)
To create a completely silent install that will automatically start PL/SQL Developer after installation you can define the section like this:
ProductCode=your product code (no quote)
SerialNumber=your serial number (no quote)
Password=your password (no quote)
LicenseFile=where you put your aalf.dat (no quote)
Note 1: You just need to copy the information (with space if it have and no quote) contained in the text file that you received from the company when buying.
For the admin install you need an aalf.dat. To obtain this file, start PL/SQL Developer once and enter the registration details(under the Help menu). This will create an aalf.dat in your %PROGRAMFILES\PLSQL Developer% directory. This file which includes the license details.
Note 2: For other language than english, you will need to download a package from http://www.allroundautomations.com/plsqldevlang/80. Execute once and copy the french or other language directory and the french.lang file from %PROGRAMFILES\PLSQL Developer% and include it in you admin package.

For Windows Vista/7 licensing deployment:
You will find the aalf.dat in the %APPDATA%\PLSQL Developer directory (C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\PLSQL Developer).
Place the aalf.dat file in the root of your setup directory.
