Note

1. Copy the Adobe InCopy CS2 folder from the InCopy CS2 CD to the location from which you intend to install the product (for example, a local disk or server).

2. Open the Abcpy.ini file in the new Adobe InCopy CS2 folder and fill each of the following fields with your license information.

USERNAME=

COMPANYNAME=

SERIALNUMBER=

INSTALLDIR=

For example:

USERNAME = John Smith

COMPANYNAME = Adobe Systems

SERIALNUMBER = 0000-0000-0000-0000-0000-0000

INSTALLDIR= c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InCopy CS2

3. Save the Abcpy.ini file to the same folder from which you opened it. You can now install from this location on any Windows XP system using the MSI (Microsoft Installer).

4. Choose Start > Run.

5. In the Open box, type the following text (where [path] is the location of the new Adobe InCopy CS2 folder that you created in step 1):

msiexec /i " [ path ] \Adobe InCopy CS2.msi" /qn

For example:

msiexec /i" C:\Documents and Settings\ [ username ] \Desktop\InCopy CS2\Adobe InCopy CS2.msi" /qn

About the registration. To suppress the registration, you have to change the registry in the following way:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{C35B3785-531C-4D00-9EFA-44A130BFF73F}]

"EPIC_REGS_TYPE"=dword:00000004

"EPIC_REGS_STATE"=dword:00000002

"EPIC_REGS_LANG"=dword:00000001

"EPIC_REGS_COUNT"=dword:00000000

"EPIC_REGS_DATE"="2005-09-08 15:25" (not sure if it is really necessary)

To suppress the update you have to copy AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat to %appdata%\Adobe\Updater\AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat

The AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat should contain:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>

<AdobeUpdater>

<LastDateCheck>2005-09-08</LastDateCheck>

<AutoCheck>0</AutoCheck>

<DownloadDir>C:\Documents\AdmRacf\Updater</DownloadDir>
