I am trying to push IE11 to windows 7 machines. The zip file deploys, but doesn't extract the executable file. Any ideas??

  • what is the file called and how was it created?
  • IE11-Windows6.1-x86-en-us.exe if the file - I zipped it, uploaded to the kbox script and it pushes, but doesn't unzip.
  • Try renaming the file to a .zip
  • Also try zipping the file up using a 3rd party zip product like win zip

It's probably sub-optimal to use your email address as a user ID on a public forum...

  • how can I change it? Should I just set up a new account?
    • This could be one solution otherwise you can try to contact the administrators of the site here: http://www.itninja.com/contact

What program you used to compress the file?
Try to use the Windows basic one (Send to compressed zipped folder) or WinRar or 7Zip (file type ZIP).
Every other format than the basic ZIP will not work. WinZIP calls this ZIP format Legacy.
Have you tried to unzip the zip file that you can find under the %ProgramData%\Dell\Kace\Downloads\xxx folder ?

I don't know why it is working now, but - I ran ieak.msi on my pc - ran IE11 for windows 7 32bit exe file thru it. I put the .exe, .msi - created a .bat to run the msi and zipped them all. These are all on my pc.
Pushed and the zip file went and extracted. I am wondering if the problem was zipping on the network file and copying to my pc.
Anyway - I think I am good to go now with the msi built and everything on my pc to load to kbox script.
Thanks alll!
