ZENworks - Am I doing this incorrectly?
Hi All...
Ive created a package to install IE 7. Ive added passive and the forcerestart switches. Im now at the stage where I want to disable the first run page and also have phishing filtering already enabled.
So in the distribution tab, registry...
I have created under HKEY_CURRENT USER the following keys...
Software, Microsoft, Internet Explorer, then Main... In here I have added the following Dword:
RunOnceComplete = 0x00000001
RunOnceHasShown = 0x00000001
Then under the Internet Explorer key I created a PhishingFilter key
Then the Dword:
Enabled = oxoooooo2
So am I doing something wrong here as Ive never done this sort of thing before...
Thanks for the help
Lance

First, let me apologize in advance if I am making false assumptions, as I have not worked with IE7 yet.
You should be using IEAK7 (Internet Explorer Administration Kit) to customize your installation of IE. With IEAK, you should be able to set your preferred defaults, suppress the first run page, etc. IEAK will create an customized installation package that configures each user properly, without the need to push any HKCU keys.
You may be trying to force IE configuration settings for the current user without accounting for everything that IE expects to be in place for each user. Also, even though you are flagging RunOnceComplete, there are probably some other RunOnce-like activities taking place (Active Setup would be my first guess) that are overriding your efforts.
Try IEAK7 and see if that works out for you. This link should be a good starting point: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/ie/ieak7/default.mspx
