WPS 5.1 not capturing INI files correctly

I know this was an issue with earlier versions but it seems to have reappeared.

Is anyone else finding some INI files missing in their captures?

yeah I get this, I've just dealt with it, appears to miss any file that is named .ini that don't follow the normal format
[SECTIONNAME]
SETTING=VALUE

whats weird is that when you do the setup capture it identifies the files in the report, but then it's discarded them when you open installer editor. I wonder if its by design as wise didn't see a Sectionname, and just figured it was an empty ini file.

Hey all;

To be honest I have not really ever trusted WPS to correctly create INI files. The results I have had previously with WPS 4.5/5.1/5.5/5.51 have been rather sporadic that for the time it takes I load the ini file as actual file and remove it from the INI page within the Install Editor.

I've noticed a problem with INIs and text data files that are structured like an INI but use some other proprietary extension. For me the end result usually is duplicates, both in the File table and IniFile table. I usually pick which table it would be most appropriate in, and delete the entries in the other.

Yes, I ran into this with 4 or 5 apps I did over the last several days. INI files that went into %systemroot% and also in the apps c:\program files\xxxx folder weren't being picked up. It did however pick up changes to win.ini & netware.ini even though those are excluded....

Does WPS5.5 fix this??

I'm on 5.51. It might help a bit, but definitely not a full fix.
