Win 7 script fails on Dell M90

Trying to load Win 7 64 on Dell M90's. This worked fine for a long time, however after KBE and the image starts then 'poof', it reverts to the Scripted Image selection screen. Does this sound like the KBE network drivers? Do I need to add the network driver to the KBE and rebuild? This is intermittent to the Dell M90's

If your able to get that far i don't think its a issue with the NIC driver.

I would open up a ticket with support.

mlathrop,

All though I understand dchrisitan's response, I believe this is due to a network driver (if I remember correctly). Do you get a .vbscript error when you try to run it again? If so, I'm almost certain its a driver issue.

yes, it would be a kbe nic driver. There are no errors if you try running the scripted install a second time?

no errors, it just keeps reverting to the KBOX GUI

This uses a Broadcom Netxtreme 57xx gigabit controller. We've not had problems loading Win 7 on most of these until recently. Is a 64bit version of this driver required for rebuilding KBE?

You will need the windows 7 driver for whatever architecture you are capturing/deploying.

Use this for adding drivers to kbe:

I thought once you made it to the white screen the driver issues were over...

Good to know!

DCristian,

99% of the time you are correct, and this one threw us for quite a loop because that was our thinking. However, we typically see a .vbs error on the 2nd run with the issue I'm thinking about, so we'll need to see if mlathrop's problem goes away with an updated broadcom driver as well.

Please let us know mlathrop!

We've decided not to deploy Win 7 on M90's, so I won't be going forward on this.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
