There are over 10,000 questions answered here at ITNinja on packaging: http://www.itninja.com/tag/package-development

If you'd like a meaningful answer, you will need to specify what tools you intend to use. Do you use SCCM, KACE, Group Policy? Have you purchased any repackaging tools or is that what you are looking for?

  • Hi bkelly, Im in need of picture taker tool..
    • Not sure you'll find that as they seem to be long gone. If you are looking for a free tool to do a snapshot and observe changes give the AppDeploy Repackager a shot: http://www.itninja.com/community/dell-kace-appdeploy-repackager

For packaging you can check out this blog: http://www.itninja.com/blog/view/infographic-going-ninja-on-it

I've used it several times and it's been quite helpful. I'm also working on creating a "Getting Started" guide for Software Packaging, though it's an ongoing project and changes as I gain more experience. I'll put in a blog post with it here in another month or two. You can follow me and check back.

In the mean time this website is where you'll want to be if you want to learn packaging. You can also search for the particular software you want to make a package for here: http://www.itninja.com/software/browse?Popular=0 (Just make sure Popular isn't checked or you can miss a lot of content!)
