Obviously KACE is commonly recommended here as relatively inexpensive, but it's going to depend on what you define as costly. There are many remote deployment suites out there from Microsoft Systems Center products to Altiris/Symantec. There are also GPOs, as stated above, and psexec from the sysinternals suite, found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb842062
