KACE is linked in to the Dell warranty check mechanism and downloads this information periodically.  Unfortunately, there are no such links for other manufacturers.

In our environment, we have ship date and warranty information manually entered into each item's Asset record.  We run our reports based on that data.

If you need to get warranty data for Apple products I have a system in place to do that. I would have to write up documentation but I have been meaning to do that for a while so it would give me an excuse.

  • We would need one for HP machines
    • Maybe you can use this:

Have the script run on the machines and then use a custom inventory rule to pull the Warranty info into the inventory.
  • Would definately be interested in this if you get a chance
