Visual Studio 2008 - Virtual Issues in Appv

Guys

Ive tried to sequenced visual studio 2008 in appv 4.6 seq.

All goes fine , but when launched it gives an error "Invalid license data. Reinstall is required".

After a bit of googling , I see that this is an known issue - and there is 2 hotfixes to resolve this.

I have the hotfixes - and I have followed the recipe for sequencing from here : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/appvirtualization/dd334515.aspx
But despite trying this 5 times now - I still get the same issue over and over. Am I missing a trick ??

The only 1 thing I am unsure of - what location should the mavvak2008.dll file be in ?

Cheers

Fergal,

According to the Technet article, the MavVak2008.dll file should be placed in the install location specified in step 6, and then registered.
Registering it will place the path in the registry that the file resides in, so if it did go in a different location in the VFS is shouldn't make any difference.

Hope that helps,

Dunnpy

You need two hotfixes. One contains the dll Dunnpy mentioned (MavVak2008.dll), and another contains a replacement for devenv.exe.

Here is the sequencing recipe: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/appvirtualization/dd334515
